Beautiful Fuchsia

Started with the arrival of Diana our new face with a beautiful future arriving at the designers Menton studio at eight a.m.

The night before we had  recieved the cancellation of our ‘super model’ from Paris; featured in Madame Figaro, heaps of experiance with top photographers, huge scoop to get her to consider doing the shoot with us and wearing Beautiful to Cannes opening.

Went ahead anyway and set off with seventeen dresses to out location. A beautiful Villa in the hills behind Nice. The sky was blue and we felt positive about the oncoming day. Somehow we would get super pics and the day would be a sucess.

The good News that Rowan Smith our highly recomended fashion photographer turned up, if later than hoped with his lovely wife a florist and strangly beautiful muse Sachi.

Admitting that the Martini Prosecco helped we had a fabulous day! Cannot wait to publish the results but for now some quick pre view pics for atmosphere taken by Gigi in and around the event!

In process of creation; our new collections 2013 to be presented  along with availlable enduring favorites from our classic Beautifuls collectable signature models and prints availlable at present.

We go to launch of new Handbag line at the Grimaldi Fourum in Monaco this week and invite buyers throughout the south of France to view collection 2013 at our very own prêt a porter resort wear fashion « week » showing May 22-15th at our Monaco venue. Exciting new fashion shoot to present this full collection also planned for first week in May to present our new easy to access catalogue and sleek new web home page that will do full justice to the dresses.

Venues planned are Lyon, Aix en Provence, Avignon & Isle sur Sourges as well as Vence and other locals in the Bouche de Rhone.

As usual waiting for out jucy new fabrics from Como in Italy! Yes, while Beautiful is still printing limted print runs only of their exclsive designs we have to wait in line behind giants like Prada from the same studios!

Printed Tie Dye design on our classic weight streach cotton as well as voile for the floaty look of this years Summer Love Dress. Available in Turqoise and Tangerine.

I am reading this book again for the hundreth time because believe me it aint easy! How to start and run your own fashion business is all about encouragment. While it does not sound easy it sounds possible even given the strained financial climate of the present time. Although the book was actually published in 2008 when those in the know doubtless saw the early signs of todays raging crisis a lot of us felt that we would not be affected.It was for mega companies whos net worth in the millions hardly elicted sympathy from those of us who never imagined having such wealth to loose in the first place.

Besides this book was written for an american market where it quickly becomes evident that lots more help and opportunity is availlable for new start up designers than is the case here in France. Battling agaist the tide when every third person, including your fourniseurs recommend that you go to Tunisa or Morocco to lower production costs while you are it seems single handedly, trying to re launch garment manufacturing here on the Cote d Azur. This brings me back to the encouragement aspect and it’s importance.

A client calling you to say how she loves her dress and that her friend wants to own one too can be the bright moment in the day when you feel you are breaking through the recent grey of the sky into that Azure haze of inspiration that forced you to create the line in the first place. The joy of the colours and the fun of the prints reflected the sunny skies the bright markets and delightful gardens that for the most part caracterize the region and inspired the famous painters of the past, Matisse, Piccasso, Cocteau et al to create their art are all woven together in my own vision of Beautiful Fuchsia.

Deciding to open Designer Direct a sort of semi permenant appartment sale came to me from the same scource. Immediatly fuchsia pink japanese umbrellas sprouted on my balcony overlooking the sea. What cooler place to wait sipping pink lemonade coctails while your friends tried on the dresses? Fun accessories in production could provide you with the irresistable summer tote or a pair of the cutest girly shorts to wear on the beach or in your garden wartering the plants. Cards by Fifi Flowers could be purchased and written on the spot to that friend who would be just so thrilled to recieve that rare species; a letter with a stamp on it from a friend instead of on a screen or facebook page. As Fifi herself says, reading but also writing is fashionable!

To sum up Beautiful Fuchsia is alive and well still determined one way or another to continue producing beautiful and exclusive garments and accessories in  signature prints. Recognition comes slowly but every woman wants to look and feel Beautiful.

On arrival the Galleria d’Arte La Bonbonnière, in San Remo the proprietor,   Guilletta Calzina  welcomed us, finger to lips television camera rolling to showcase a duo Rock band who were dubbing their disc from the mezzanine gallery and being interviewed by the producer of their record company. This set the scene for San Remo during the week long Music festival.  A soiree of Music, Art and Mode followed featuring our showcase défile of Beautiful Fuchsia representing the category Mode.

Happily I had my interpreter for the Italian as the invited guests along with   interested people passing by all packed the small gallery to view the Italian artist presented, Silvia Borello Lenta and to listen to the Jazzy renditions of George Gershwin by the ‘Quartett Jazz & Swing’.

Our Mini Défilè was loudly applauded as, with no room to manauveur my new face Ka defied gravity by gliding down the stairs from the mezzanine after changing deftly behind our Nanabel commissioned screen dressed efficiently by Lisa. From the gallery below Gigi glimpsed only the tell tale sign of the  Signature Roses dress fluttering with movement as model after model appeares as if by magic from the afore mentioned sceen to glide safely down the stairs amidst spontanious gasps of admiration and applause! Bravo! Bravo Ka and Lisa! The coup de grace was the summer Love Dress. Poised in 5″ heels Ka posed at the top of the stairs a real pro in the huge Chanel shades Lisa had the genius to clamp on the retro face of the sublime Ka. Reminincent of the young legend Sofia Loren had she been of the Millenium in which we now live, I could not help but be thrilled by the all but un rehersed polish of the whole performance.
